About Lisa

Experience, perspective, and a genuine passion for people

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado with a passion for helping individuals and couples navigate life’s challenges and find a healthier, more fulfilling way forward.

Before becoming a counselor, I spent many years in the business world, including a rewarding season with The Walt Disney Company, where I gained valuable experience in leadership, teamwork, and understanding people from diverse backgrounds. Those experiences continue to shape how I work today.

Experience & training

Relationships have always been central to my work.

Before becoming a counselor, I was a manager with The Walt Disney Company and an airfreight sales executive. Later, while raising my children, I worked on a church staff as a children’s ministry program director and women’s ministry counselor, and spoke publicly about counseling and family life. Each role taught me something about how people relate, adapt, and find their way through change.

I earned an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Denver Seminary, graduating with honors. My practice welcomes people of all backgrounds and is not limited to Christian clients. I pay attention to the emotional, relational, and physical parts of a person’s life, and to spiritual concerns when a client wants to include them.

Clinical training and specialized experience

Training includes: Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples, Gottman Method Levels 1 and 2, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

In Stuttgart, I spent three years working with U.S. military personnel, Special Operations personnel, contractors, expatriates, and missionaries. I also served for three years as a regular speaker at Divorce Workshop Denver. With my husband Chris, a clinical psychologist, I have co-facilitated Gottman marriage retreats for active-duty military couples.
